Little Space — Big Charm

With an expanding family, this 1930s colonial home in Southwest Minneapolis needed some updating. The family needed more room for an informal eating area and a more spacious back-entry area with storage options. Because they love to entertain, they also wanted an overall space that was more open. This was accomplished by adding a doorway in the living room that opens into the back of the kitchen, and by removing a closet in the dining room to open up into the front kitchen area. The remodel played off of the home's wonderful original character. The resulting kitchen is far more functional with more storage and a place for everything, and every usable inch is maximized. Solid successfully provided the necessary demolition, frame carpentry and trim carpentry for this beautiful kitchen remodel project.

Client Comments

"Starting a whole house remodel that involves taking off the roof and siding in December with the hopes of being done in time for the Spring Remodelers Showcase can be a bit scary. That is why Castle Building & Remodeling relies on the knowledgeable, professional and quality-driven crews at Solid. With a limited time frame and freezing temperatures outside, Solid performed beautifully and adapted to an evolving project to help leave Castle and our clients extremely happy. I recommend Solid to all professional remodeling contractors." ~ Loren Schirber – Owner, Castle Building & Remodeling
